Wilf and I live on the family farm in southeastern Saskatchewan very close to the North Dakota border. The farm is a grain operation and both of us have outside jobs as well. Gardening on the prairies in a zone 3 climate presents some unique challenges. Wide variations in temperature and drying winds are among the worst enemies. As I began switching from annuals to perennials I discovered daylilies and peonies and both quickly became a passion of mine. Presently there are approximately 60 different peonies and over 400 varieties of daylilies growing on our farm. Photographing the blooms has become a hobby of mine and I hope that you enjoy browsing through the images. Both of us love the freedom and privacy of living in a rural setting. With the changes in technology and the arrival of the Internet we feel that we have the best of both worlds. |

Our cat MacKenzie is the official mouser at Caragana Country Acres and also thinks he is master of the household as well. |

Myshka Berry, our American Eskimo, has been our faithful companion for the past
12 years. As official guard dog, you could say that her bark is worse than her bite.

Stanley brought adoption papers to our back door in late September, 2001. Wilf, Myshka Berry and I have signed, but MacKenzie still has a few reservations. Stanley is a little devil who is forever sneaking up on MacKenzie. We are patiently waiting for him to grow into his ears. |
